For a thousand generations, humans have been part of the rich tapestry of life on Earth – members of a vibrant, life-supporting community of plants, animals, waters, landscapes, and weather systems. In this embodied interbeing, we experienced Spirit within and among us.
But the more ‘civilized’ and industrialized we became, the more separate we felt–increasingly fractured from intimate interrelationship with our Earthly kin. Whether culturally or religiously reinforced, we largely view the nonhuman world as lesser, separate, and merely ‘useful,’ to our own peril:
- Waterways and oceans are overwhelmed by pollution
- The climate crisis becomes more perilous by the day
- Democracy and cultural cohesion are stretching at the seams
- Our sense of God and each other feels increasingly abstract, objectified, and lonely
- …and we’re facing the sixth mass extinction of life on our planet.
How did our species sever our primal reciprocity with the more-than-human world?
How can we reenter into true kinship with our living, breathing planet?
If we’re honest, contemporary religious and secular approaches have failed us. We apparently don’t respond well to better beliefs, statistics, or shaming to ‘do better.’
But what if the gate of reunion with Spirit, ourselves, each other, and our beautiful world is pleasure?
At Wisdom Camp, we’ll spend a day together exploring the ecology of desire, honoring our sensuous hearts, bodies, and the spaces between us and all that lives.
Through storytelling, teaching, and embodied practices, we’ll invite mystical spirituality to rain down from her cloud of unknowing and play in the dirt!
This year’s lineup of teachers is quite exciting, drawing from a wealth of interspiritual experience including Jewish, Buddhist, Yogic, African-diaspora, North American/Turtle Island Indigenous, Fourth Way, Narrative Enneagram, and contemplative Christian sources.
If you feel your heart stirring, your body yearning, and your curiosity burning for a more vibrant, easeful, and compelling way to practice and play in the everyday wonder of our living Earth, we hope you’ll join us!

Micky ScottBey Jones:
Enneagram of Desire: Knowing What We Desire and How to Be Truly Satisfied
We each have unique core desires, paired with beliefs about how we can fulfill those desires. However, these core desires and the pathways we choose to get them are often hidden from us, part of patterned behavior that actually keeps us from getting what we truly want. That patterned behavior “works” for a while, that’s why we use it — but it’s often based in striving, not in alignment with who we really want to be or even destructive to ourselves, our beloveds or other living things. In this session, we’ll talk about our core desires of the ego (or personality), core desires of our obscured inner self, and how to relax into loving and healing practices and pathways that lead to true satisfaction.
Viony Medlin:
Relationship Energetics:
What is the energetic body and how does it inhabit our relationships? Our relationships are informed by our upbringing, life experiences and societal conditioning, which are directly tied to our energetic body and our susceptibility to the energy we absorb. Viony will take you through the energetic body, Human Design, and an embodiment practice to help bring awareness to the beliefs keeping you from claiming the authentic and loving relationships you crave!
Heiwa no Bushi:
God in an age of Scarcity: The Ecology of Desire:
Heiwa no Bushi walks us through a thought-provoking and inspiring conversation about “Touching the actual Earth.” Humanity for countless histories has chewed away at the Earth and its resources of necessity so much so that we are “dying from without.” As a BodhiChristo teacher and practitioner of immense devotion, Heiwa discusses how to become one with the earth, ocean, vegetation, creature, and sky as a means of ceasing to destroy the world and atmosphere in this age of scarcity. Drawing from an unequivocal spiritual logic, Heiwa no Bushi leads us into a human/spiritual dialogue that can help to calibrate us back to usefulness to the Earth, air, sea, and sky. This session calls forth the ultimate challenge for us all: To be humans, and to care for all that enables us to thrive physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and socially.
