Unbound & Unplugged—A Ukulele Sing Along
Bring your ukulele—or just your voice. Jenn Tabor invites beginners and seasoned players alike to sing and strum simple, beloved songs together. With just a few easy chords, we’ll create a space where music is shared rather than performed, and everyone is part of the sound. No stage. No pressure. No perfection required. We’ll play through familiar hymns and folk favorites, music that’s meant to be sung loudly and with friends. Chord sheets will be provided, and we’ll keep everything accessible for newer players. In a world that often feels divided and curated, there is something deeply connecting about making music together in real time.
Stop by the pub and join Betsy McGeorge as we belt out show tunes, classic rock, K-pop, or whatever song you want (as long as we can find the karaoke version). You don’t need a perfect pitch to take the mic; this is all about letting loose, cheering each other on, and sharing a good laugh. From group sing-alongs to solo showstoppers, come help us turn the pub into a space of pure, unadulterated musical joy.
Drumming Together at the Goose
Drumming together is an opportunity to form a group consciousness, to share our spirit with one another, and empower each other to celebrate community and life through rhythm. Led by Tuf Francis, we seek to create a collective voice that will engender listening, cooperation, imagination, and awe. The Drum Circle is open to people of all ages and levels of musical expertise (supervised children are encouraged and welcome), though experienced drummers are essential to form a cohesive foundation. A myriad of percussion instruments will be available including hand drums, shakers, cymbals, and chimes, though we encourage everyone who is able to bring a drum or any instrument! All sounds and movement are welcome—come sing, dance, clap, knock sticks together, or drum!
Songwriting Collaboration for Progressive Churches
Join us at this all-day event Thursday Sep 3 for a collaborative workshop dedicated to dreaming up original music for progressive churches. This isn’t a workshop about technique—it’s an invitation to put to language what we’re already feeling, sensing, and wanting to declare. Many of us in progressive faith spaces have felt the gap between what we’re wrestling with and what we dare to hope for. Writers, musicians, music leaders, and creatives of all kinds are welcome here. If you’ve ever thought, “someone should write that song”—perhaps you are that someone. Come ready to imagine, collaborate, and create the art our communities are still waiting for.
