Using Talking Circles to Nurture Communication and Understanding Across Divides

July 13, 201912:00 pm12:50 pm
Talking Circles are a simple process for creating a safe and brave space for all to speak, be heard, be valued & listen deeply. Circles have been used for centuries to build community, resolve conflicts, nurture connections and solve problems. In this workshop, you are invited to experience a Talking Circle & learn how you might use this process back home. Bring yourself, what is stirring for you at WGF, & whatever else is on your mind & take advantage of this opportunity to encounter your best self in relationship with others. Scott Bass has more than a decade of experience with Circles & brings extensive experience as a group facilitator & as a therapist with individuals, couples & families. Jon Powell, Director of the Restorative Justice Clinic at Campbell Law School, uses Circles and other restorative justice practices in prisons, schools and other community settings. Perlie Davis has participated in various Circle trainings and has facilitated Circle Processes around issues of race, political and social issues, and sexual violation.
