Children

For two hours each morning (10-12) and an hour in the afternoon (2-3), the Children's Team offers an opportunity for caregivers to participate in the festival apart from their children, ages 3 to 12, and allow for a festival community of children to deepen with the guidance of playful Christian spiritual mentoring. Using Godly Play* practices, experienced facilitators will lead singing, storytelling, group wondering, and an exploration of personal responses through free choice art opportunities. We will immerse ourselves in some of Jesus' parables (Friday morning), ground ourselves in Creation (Friday afternoon), discovering our place in the larger stories of the People of God (all Saturday). Important to know: - w/kids festival goers interested in having children, ages 3 to 12, participate in any Children's Tent sessions are STRONGLY encouraged to come by Thursday afternoon, between 5 - 6 pm, in order to pre-register children for these drop off programs (capacity is limited), and/or to learn about Godly Play during this open house - upon registration each family is assigned a unique number, to be written on their wristbands, and ONLY adults with corresponding wristband numbers will be able to pick up designated children - wristbands MUST be worn by both caregivers and children in Children's Tent programs, for ALL drop offs and pickups - all Children's Team members are volunteers, all of whom have undergone a recent background check process, and are required to maintain at least two-deep leadership during all program related activity *Godly Play is a unique approach to spiritual formation. It does not teach about knowing God. Instead, invitations are offered for meaning-making; for connecting with God, whom you already know. Through story, open ended wondering, and deep play, Godly Play supports: exploring existential limits, making meaning from spiritual experiences, coming close to the mystery of God.
