Type of Experience: Workshop

Content Type: Process Design Workshop for Healing

We live in times that are increasingly chaotic and riddled with traumatic events. Many faith communities are feeling the impact of this stress in a multiplicity of ways, ranging from increased conflict and anxiety to the loss of prophetic imagination and hope. Yet few leaders were trained to design and facilitate processes that nurture communal post-traumatic growth. In this interactive workshop, we will explore the role of narrative in post-traumatic growth, starting with the Biblical witness and moving to modern scholarship. We will then consider our own communities and brainstorm different forms of narrative that might resonate with them. Finally, we will begin to design our own unique processes to bring back to the organizations of which we are a part.
