Will Bouvel

In 2019 Will Bouvel, then Director of Children's Ministry at St. Chrysostom's Episcopal Church in Chicago started to wonder what an antiracist Sunday School could look like. Fast forward through the pandemic, George Flloyd's murder, and a chance encounter with Jen Holt Enriquez in a zoom class and that dream became a reality. Lead by families in his church, Will leaned on a love of Montessori based storytelling techniques and coauthered a six part story that frames the problem of racism through faith - The Lie that Caused Racism. With support from the Episcopal Church's Becoming Beloved Community initiative, this work became Tell Me the Truth About Racism which supports others to tell the Truth about how racism has distorted them and their communities away from God's dream of radical equality. Now an ordained minister in the Episcopal Church, Will lives in Chicago with his husband, preschool aged daughter and two cats.
