Scott Bass is an addictions therapist at Silver Ridge Recovery in Mills River, NC where he does individual, family, and group therapy. He worked as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist since the mid 1990s in the Raleigh area before relocating to Asheville this year. In addition to his clinical work, he has worked in several nonprofit roles in social justice and human services. He has worked extensively with loved ones of homicide victims and loved ones of persons on death row and has deep experience with complicated grief. Scott's work with people overcoming addictions is informed by his professional and personal experiences. He is knowledgeable of many approaches to recovery from addiction including therapeutic and self-help approaches, such as Recovery 2.0, Dharma Recovery, and AA among others. He holds an MS degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and a Master of Divinity. He has been part of Wild Goose Festival since before the first festival and considers it an annual must.
