Rev. Hillary Taylor is an Ordained Elder and hospital chaplain with the Mountain Sky Conference of the United Methodist Church. A graduate of both Furman University and Candler School of Theology (Emory University), Hillary began working against death penalty with the #KellyOnMyMind Campaign in 2015 to save the life of Kelly Gissendaner in Georgia. Her work against the death penalty in South Carolina began when the firing squad bill passed the state legislature, making the firing squad and the electric chair the default methods of execution in her home state. Since that time, Hillary has used her skills to help restart South Carolinians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty after a 10-year organizational hiatus. When Hillary is not working, she loves reading and discussing all things related to psychology, liberation theology, and restorative justice.
