Rev. Dr. Ed Treat

Ed Treat has been in long-term recovery from addiction for 37 years. He received his Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry from Luther Seminary. After decades of serving in local parish ministry, Treat launched the Addiction & Faith Conference in 2018 to educate, inspire and equip congregations in addiction ministry. In 2020, Treat founded The Center of Addiction & Faith, to continue the mission of the conference year round. Treat is also author of The Pastor, a psychological novel about a small-town pastor who confronts a mystery surrounding the death of a member of his congregation. Ed and his wife, Karen, also a Lutheran minister, live in Woodbury, Minnesota, they have four grown children all graduates of Lutheran Colleges and two new grandchildren.
