Amy writes poetry and prose, and is an ordained United Methodist minister. Experienced in church leadership,, she also developed and directed a 3-site vocational arts program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In addition to writing sermons, she has written for the Upper Room Disciplines annual devotional (2024) and for the WNCCUMC Conference blog. Her first collection of poetry, 40 Days of Grief and Lament, was published in 2017. Her year-long experiment in writing a poem every day has resulted in material for many poetry collections to come. She cultivates conversations about faith in coffee shops and pubs, and has led Hops `n' Hymns in several locations. Using art, poetry, prayer, and contemplative spiritual practices, she has worked her way through burn out, stress, and life transitions. She teaches others to use their creativity for renewal and Sabbath living. Rev. Vaughan has been a co-creator at Wild Goose since 2016.
