Jim Holmes has been playing guitar for 50 years. He likes to sing and play folk songs and original songs as well as play and sing songs for worship. Jim has been playing Taize music for over 20 years at Oakhurst Baptist Church in Decatur, GA. with Leslie Withers for special Taize worship services and for music on Sunday mornings. About 7 years ago, Leslie inviited him to play for a Taize service at the Wild Goose festival in Hot Springs NC and we have been playing every year since then as Taize Together. Structured as a prayer service, Taize combines singing and playing familiar chants, repeating verses several times as a prayer in song. spoken prayers of intercession, and silence for an enriching spiritual experience.
