Gun Violence Prevention Ministry of the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship

Guns to Gardens is a new grassroots movement among ordinary people in the United States to intervene in epidemic levels of gun violence by turning unwanted guns into garden tools and art. It offers congregations a form of direct action that we can take in our communities to help prevent mass shootings, gun suicides, unintentional shootings and other gun violence. With over 400 million guns in private hands, many of these weapons are no longer wanted by their owners, nor do they want to return them to the gun market where they can do future harm. Guns to Gardens is a practical service to help gun owners responsibly dispose of guns. It offers healing for those who have been traumatized by gun violence. And it is a prophetic movement, bringing to life the vision of Isaiah 2:4, beating swords into plowshares, and challenging political leaders and others to do even more. From chop saws to blacksmiths to gardens, come learn at this hands-on workshop how your church can help save lives.
