Fred is a Prodigal Pastor who loves cycling, rock climbing, hiking, and storytelling. He earned degrees from Baylor University (BA), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv), and Fuller Theological Seminary (DMin). He founded and pastored Vineyard Church in Kansas City, MO which grew to several thousand people (1990-2019), and he worked on a PhD in the Hebrew Bible while pastoring a megachurch because he loves learning. He went through a spiritual and emotional meltdown which led to him founding Spirituality Adventures in 2021 and connecting with people in deconstruction, recovery, and religious trauma through blogs, podcasts, meditation events, and groups. He is also the new Lead Pastor of Living Water Christian Church (DOC) in Kansas City, MO (2023).
