Daniel Deitrich

Daniel Deitrich is a singer-songwriter based in southwest Michigan. His honest, heartbreaking, yet hopeful writing finds a home in massive Americana anthems, catchy Indie rock hooks, as well as intimate acoustic confessionals. Deitrich is perhaps best known for his viral hit Hymn for the 81%, a song that critiques evangelical support for former president Donald Trump. Within weeks of its release in 2020, the song racked up hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube plus a deluge of hate mail and even death threats. After being fired from his position as worship arts pastor, Deitrich joined forces with Vote Common Good to campaign for progressive candidates, advocate for immigration reform, and work to confront Christian Nationalism. Deitrich has continued to write and release new music and also produces the Common Good Podcast. He lives with his wife, three kids and a small flock of chickens in Baroda, Michigan.
