Chris the Bard

Chris the Bard is a singer songwriter of the people. Folky like Guthrie, Seeger and other gems from before, his music often centres on topics of justice and hope for a more fair, loving and beautiful world for all. With a claw-hammer guitar style, singable melodies and songs ranging from silly, to serious, to strange, the audience is sure to have some laughs and smiles and might just pick up an ear-worm. Anticapitalist, Chris has lots of experience working in various roles (paid and volunteer, church based and otherwise) helping out people struggling with homelessness. His commitment to activism and causes of justice stems from the his Christian roots and the themes of deep peace, love, anti-oppression and anti-empire expressed in scripture (especially by Jesus and the Prophets). Chris aims to use his privilege to make space for marginalized people and voices and is learning when it is best to just get out of the way.
