Wild Goose Festival is unique, yet similar experiences can and do happen wherever and whenever God's Spirit is given space in the midst of gathered communities. In this workshop, Rev. Tommy Brown, Director of William Black Lodge in Montreat, will guide participants in a process of imagining/designing a Wildgoose type retreat experience in and for one's own community or wished for gathering. Participants will come away from this workshop with at least an outline for a Wildgoose type retreat experience. We’ll cover the basics of leadership, marketing, location, hospitality/meals, music, and schedule/design. We'll also review basics of group dynamics, so you will be prepared for the expected and unexpected ebb and flow of a gathering of goosers. Most importantly we'll design/plan in a style that trusts the participants and makes space for the Wildgoose - God's Spirit to fly and flow through the gathered communities in a retreat/conference/event setting. Rev. Tommy Brown is Director of William Black Lodge in Montreat – www.williamblacklodge.org. He brings a lifetime of experience in camp, conference and retreat ministries. He taught Leadership and Group Dynamics in Recreation Management at Appalachian State University. He also served as Stage Manager for the Wildgoose Festival for several years.
