Despite our best efforts, our workplaces as activists, non-profits employees, or other industry we find ourselves in are rife with examples of toxic leadership. In this interactive workshop, the co-founders of Working by Gaslight, a website dedicated to revealing stories of our experiences of toxicity in the workplace, will seek to do the following: #1 - Define toxic leadership. How do we know we are experiencing it? What are some of key indicators? #2 - Help the audience reveal some of their own experiences #3 - Take one or two of the experiences from step 2 and lead the community at the workshop in exercises engineered to gain progress in combatting their toxic situations. This workshop is designed to help individuals who may feel isolated to realize they have community, that everyone experiences toxicity, and to help equip people with possible actions or tools to address their situation.
