Type of Experience: Workshop

Content Type: deconstruction, eclectic spirituality, safe community

In the context of faith or spirituality, deconstruction is the experience and process of questioning, examining, and dismantling one’s belief system in part or in whole. But too often, we do the demolition work to a previous belief/system and either sit in the rubble unsure of what to do next, or we sweep it under a rug which is tantamount to repression. Neither of these scenarios promote spiritual health and wholeness. This session will be exploring what it means to deconstruct and reconstruct our spiritual lives, how we find our own unique path regardless of societal categories or labels, and what it looks like to practice eclectic and fluid spirituality. We’ll also touch on how to create and live in truly safe community together while deconstructing and reconstructing in our individual ways. Let's IMAGINE new ways of being spiritual and being in community!
