The seeds of love and justice were implanted in my heart by the music and Bible stories of the little Baptist churches where I grew up in the segregated post WWII South. An early curiosity about who was left out of the official picture of reality (especially women and people of color) caused those seeds to blossom into passions for social justice and the divine feminine. After earning an M.A. from UNC Chapel Hill and an M.Div. from Pacific School of Religion, I was ordained to the ministry by the United Church of Christ. A deep desire to understand the missing feminine face of God and its relation to the brokenness of our society has motivated my professional life as a pastor, teacher of writing, and spiritual director. This passion has also motivated my husband and me to lead pilgrimages to sites connected with the roots of Celtic Christianity in Scotland and Ireland.
