Molly Baskette is the lead minister of the self-described “weird and wonderful Body of Christ” at First Church Berkeley UCC (CA), and the author of several books, including one about church renewal (Real Good Church), one about parenting with progressive faith and science (Bless This Mess), one about how fun it is to confess our sins publicly (Standing Naked Before God), and a new book out this fall: How to Begin When Your World is Ending: A Spiritual Field Guide to Joy Despite Everything. She is a popular writer of daily devotionals for the UCC StillSpeaking Writers Group. A native of New England, she traded blizzards for earthquakes and now deeply digs life in the Bay Area with her husband and two teens, where she loves to march in the streets for justice, hike the redwoods, or read in the hammock, depending on God’s agenda for the day.
