Humankind has always been a part of, not apart from, the rest of the created cosmos. We hold a sacred duty to care for the planet that gives us life: food, water, air, and shelter. How we perform that duty depends deeply on how we see our relationship with our Creator. Are we merely inhabitants of the universe waiting for God to act independently of us to restore the gifts of nature? Or do we have a role to play as partners with God to co-create the future we believe God has promised? Can we predict a better future by imagining the ways that future generations will create it?
