Noonday Centering Prayer
Sat 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Each year, I have made space for those who need to center themselves amidst the noise, bodies, and philosophies that make up The Wild Goose Festival. Though a small group practice, the chairs are always filled to capacity with embodied spirits who express gratitude each year for this space. The routine is that Centering Prayer is explained for those new to the practice, then some words are read for those gathered to hold and ponder. Then we go around the circle to introduce ourselves and share what we are holding, followed by 20 minutes of silence. When the singing bowl is struck, those gathered may leave in silence or stay for a few final moments to debrief. Though this is a Christian practice, it is broad enough to welcome those of any denomination and faith or no faith tradition.
