URBAN FOOD PRODUCTION FOR BEGINNERS

Fri 1:00pm - 1:50pm

Venue: Convo 10

While it might be unrealistic for an urban gardener to expect to grow all their own food, we can replace a portion of the food we’d otherwise acquire through the capitalist / industrialist food system and collectively impact environmental sustainability, while also improving quality and nutrition of the food we provide for ourselves and our families. This workshop on how to get started gardening and growing your own food in small spaces is designed for beginners. You will learn an analytical scaffolding of why we do this, practical suggestions about how to get started including specific books, web sites, and receive a checklist of things you need to know and think about to get started. This workshop will include ideas for those who only have a windowsill as well as those who have space on a rooftop, patio, or back yard.
