We've all been there, staring at the numbers on the scale, knowing that while they shouldn't define us, on some level we've allowed them to. As an Eating Disorder survivor, this feeling is no stranger to me. I tried the healthy diets, the lifestyle changes, and the multiple remedies thrown at me by social media and society, and somehow still found myself in the same place-- hating my body and punishing it in the most undeserved ways. So today, I offer you a new solution-- what if we tossed the diets in the trash and truly listened to our bodies instead? Intuitive eating is a form of mindfulness that takes the power away from food and gives you the full right to your body-- to nourish it, fuel it, and to love it where it is.
