Stephanie Lynn Shaefer, PhD, LPC, Center for Pastoral Counseling of VA

Stephanie L. Shaefer PhD, MEd, LPC, has been a Child, Marriage and Family Counselor for over 35 years, empowering children, adolescents, couples, families, and multiple family groups in mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual development. She also has taught intercultural and interfaith communication and conflict resolution at several universities in Virginia and Hawaii. She retired as a Professional Counselor for Arlington Public Schools after 23 years, but continues to teach yoga and meditation for children. She is currently working for the Center for Pastoral Counseling of Virginia, a non-profit providing sliding scale counseling for families. She especially enjoys facilitating workshops, presentations, and hands-on skill training in parent and family communication, interfaith dialogue, and conflict resolution, sharing with others the important listening and other communication skills we use as counselors. I attended my first Wild Goose Festival in the summer of 2019, and now am inspired to come back and contribute.
