Southeast Climate Action Faith Leaders Network

Southeast Climate Action Faith Leaders Network (SFLN) is a collaborative effort building long-term grassroots powerlifting up the principles and values of a just transition as we convene faith leaders throughout the Southeast region. We are putting our “Faith into Action” to address the causes and consequences of climate change as a moral imperative and to serve as visionaries in creating beloved communities. SFLN was launched in 2019 through the support of the US Climate Action Network. Led by Interfaith Power & Light Directors from Alabama Georgia North Carolina and South Carolina the network is supported by Creation Justice Ministries based in Washington DC. The purpose of SFLN is to connect and engage faith communities in climate justice conversations around local impacts and disasters while also seeking preventative solutions. SFLN has established strategic partnerships as well as initial avenues for ongoing education and training for faith leaders and communities on environmental policy issues and environmental justice issues. SFLN works to develop shared campaigns and resources to bring about systemic transformative change for a more just democratic and healthy future that can send ripples of change far beyond our region. We see this foundational work as an example for all faith communities.
