In 2016 Nancy left the Baptist church after 40 years of being told--both directly and indirectly--that women couldn't be pastors. In 2019, at the age of 59, she was verified ready for a call in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and was ordained this past November. Nancy has been the Interim Pastor at Providence Forge Presbyterian Church in Virginia since September 2020. During her single days Nancy served as a youth director and campus minister. Following her marriage, she and her family volunteered with the charity Mercy Ships for seven years, living in England, Ghana, and Liberia. It was during her time in England, while attending a Christians for Biblical Equality International Conference in Durham, that she clearly heard God saying to her, There is no limitation that I have placed on you because you are a woman. It took more than a dozen years, but she finally took this to heart and began the path to ordination. She and her husband Mark, along with their two youngest children Cara and Sam, have been attending the WGF since 2012 and have volunteered for the past five years.
