Alexandria Skinner

Alexandria's calling as a peacemaker led her on a path in which she developed skill in social policy, law, ethics, theology, and environment. She grew up splitting time between city life and life on a farm where her family grew all its own food. Professionally she works as a mediator and attorney for individuals and families seeking peaceable personal and legal transitions and is halfway through graduate studies for a MSW degree. (More about her professional bio can be found at https://mediatorsbeyondborders.org/striving-for-sustainable-and-constructive-mediation-member-spotlight-alexandria-skinner/ .) What's relevant for WGF is that as part of her personal practice of making peace with self, others, and earth, Alexandria grows a significant portion of her own family's food in her small suburban plot, coordinates a church organic garden, is passionate about creation care, and is a red letter Christian activist in social justice issues. The intersection of these various skills equips her to help individuals anticipate and cope with the spiritual (coping), practical (growing food), and social (community building) aspects of adapting to a world that is about to be drastically changed for the worse as the result of end stage capitalism, climate change, social disruption, and the increasing power of industrial agriculture.
