Asti Nicholas White, a former Global Mission Fellow-US2 (2018-2020) with the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries. After being commissioned in 2018, Asti served a two-year term with the Michigan Annual Conference. While serving in Kalamazoo, Michigan with the Wesley Foundation at Western Michigan University, Asti engaged in areas of food insecurity and Intentional Christian living with the collegiate ministry. Asti was born in Decatur, Georgia and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in nonprofit leadership with minor concentrations in entrepreneurship and servant leadership at LaGrange College. While studying at LaGrange College, he traveled to the Philippines and El Salvador immersing in service and sustainability efforts with the local United Methodist Church. Asti is serving as a Candler Intern at Dunwoody United Methodist Church in Dunwoody, Georgia in the North George Annual Conference. He is currently a certified candidate for ordained ministry and looks forward to sharing his gifts with the church and community as a United Methodist deacon. He is a second year Master of Divinity Student at Candler with a concentration in Chaplaincy. Asti is interested in exploring the intersections of pastoral care and social justice (environmental justice/ anti-racism) with non-profits and churches and seek out healthy and sustainable measures for relationship building around the world. Asti is hoping to study, research, and advocate for marginalized communities that have systematically been oppressed and do not receive the resources needed for health and vitality. Asti is a thrill seeker, a pilot of various stunt kites, season ticket holder at Six Flags over Georgia, loves to run, hike, kayak, and he is a global traveler.
