Elizabeth Jeffries

When Elizabeth Jeffries found herself grasping for a way to affirm life in the absence of theological certainty, she turned to biology. Her upcoming book, “Through the Kaleidoscope,” to be released by Epiphany Publishing on July 14, 2019 explores the ways that, as her faith has evolved, cell biological patterns taught her a new way of seeing life. After completing a PhD in chemistry in 2015, Elizabeth continued her work in the natural sciences with a postdoctoral appointment at the University of Pittsburgh. In this capacity, she investigated the molecular biological mechanisms of aging on a cellular level. During her training in the natural sciences, the fundamentalist evangelical Christian faith of her upbringing began to disintegrate. This loss of faith, combined with her concrete understanding of natural phenomena inspired her to explore the patterns that underlie these phenomena. She share the culmination and fruit of this exploration in her book, inviting others to find affirmation for their own lives in nature as well.
