Wild Goose Wings
We are a community creating a festival at the intersection of justice, spirituality and art. The first festival took place in June 2011; the next one is June 21-24 2012. We take inspiration from many places, such as Greenbelt, Burning Man, the Iona Community, SXSW, and others. The festival is open to everyone; we don’t censor what can be said; we invite respectful - but fearless - conversation and action for the common good.
The Wild Goose is a Celtic spirituality metaphor that evokes unpredictability, beauty, and grace. The festival resonates with this image because we recognize that in the current climate of religious and political division and lack of civility, embracing the creative and open nature of our faith is perhaps our greatest asset for re-building and strengthening our relationships with each other, with our enemies, with our stories, our questions, and the other. In that spirit, in an informal setting, and in the context of creative and respectful relationships, we invite you to imagine a new world with us.

Wild Goose relies on the support of a large number of people year-round. One of the really cool things about the Wild Goose community is that you don't even have to come to the annual festival to experience the Goose. We'll soon be announcing some regional events around the country that will take place between now and June. Even so, we want to make the festival itself accessible to as many people as possible, and have thus far been able to make this possible through the generosity of artists and speakers donating their time, a volunteer army working behind the scenes, sponsoring groups ... and the generosity and support of people like you.
As the festival community could be described as a flock', Wild Goose "Wings" is what we affectionately call people who make a regular donation to the festival. With your regular gifts, "Wings" are people who make it possible for the Wild Goose to soar and who help sustain the festival itself as well as the year-round community being nurtured at the intersection of justice, spirituality and art. Wild Goose is developing a unique position amongst festivals in North America - we're committed to ethical ways of using money, developing fair trade policies, and utilizing sustainable environmental practices.
Being a Wing isn't about the level of your monetary gift, of course. As a Wings donor we trust that you'll give as generously as you are able. You'll receive an exclusive newsletter three times a year which will be full of articles and reviews you won't find anywhere else. We'll let you know about ticket discounts and special offers before anyone else, and each year we'll host a private reception at the festival for Wings members only. There are more really exciting possibilities for Wings members which include being part of the annual trek "across the pond" to attend our sister festival, Greenbelt, in the UK, AND there may even be some opportunities to participate in exclusive Q&A conference calls with Wild Goose speakers and artists! We'll announce details of these additional opportunities soon.

Putting on a festival of this scale is no easy task. We welcome donations of all sizes. Just $10 a month from you could help us ensure the festival for generations to come. But no matter the size of your donation, we look forward to welcoming you to the growing community of people who are contributing to sustaining the Wild Goose vision by becoming our "Wings."
